First Presbyterian Church, Bridgeton, New Jersey

Facts and Figures

We have a church family of about 300 people - including active and inactive members and uncommissioned children

Most of us live in the City of Bridgeton or the surrounding towns and townships, including Hopewell, Upper Deerfield, Fairfield, Cedarville, Stowe Creek, and Shiloh. A few of us live a little farther from the church building.

We have 3 active church boards of male and female members elected by the congregation:

• Session - the governing board
• Board of Deacons - a service board ministering to "the sick, the friendless, and those in need"
• Board of Trustees - the corporate board which manages finances, property, insurance, and other business matters

We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), a connnectional church that includes presbyteries across the country. Ours is the Presbytery of West Jersey which includes 65 congregations from Burlington to Cape May.

Our budget for 2008 is $238,434. Our total mission giving as a church (the amount the church gives to missions and mission projects) comes to more than 10% of our budget.
