CONTACT Community Helplines
This agency serves Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Counties. All services are free and confidential, and the motto is, "Helping people - one call at a time."
Services provided to people in Cumberland County include:
Volunteers are needed to make CONTACT Helpline available in Spanish. At the time of the presentation to the City of Bridgeton's Mayor's Campaign for a Healthier Bridgeton (November 19, 2003), it was said that the service has access to a "language line" but hopes to get bilingual volunteers because a language line involves a third person in the conversation and so compromises confidentiality somewhat.

All volunteers are said to be trained to be non-judgmental and empathetic.
It was also announced that CONTACT will be our area's provider for the new 211 services which are federally funded and should be available around July, 2004.
