Confirmation Class

The Confirmation Course

Our confirmation course runs from September until Pentecost Sunday, almost throughout the school year. The students are 7th and 8th graders or above, and they are preparing to make public profession of their faith in Jesus Christ, declare their commitment to living as his disciples, and accept adult responsibility as members of his church.

The course is taught by the pastor, who strives to show the students the importance of forming and asking good questions and to think as well as feel their faith. The very first question, from which the course develops, is, "Who are you?"

Additionally, the course is framed by the two commandments Jesus brought together from the Torah: "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might," and, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
